Liam's Scared of the Big Bad Wolf!

Ha! Ha! Why is it funny to see your kids cry sometimes and then not so funny when say they're sick or hurt? My newest in-law Justin was the Big Bad Wolf and Kristin was Little Red Riding Hood and their costumes rocked and were very believable.

Wheeler Farm

I wished we lived closer to the farm. Wheeler Historic Farm is always so much fun for the kids and this time the workers let Aidan and Seery pet the piglet (only 3 weeks old). After some shyness they actually did pet the future bacon of McDonald's. The funny part was when they ran away scared because the other Mama Pig got a little ticked and started charging the fence grunting because the workers made her piglets squeal.

We brought hot dog buns to feed the ducks and geese and they flipped out and were attacking our stroller, which of course made Seery freak out and start squealing herself. Quite funny if I do say so myself. It's hard to type with Liam pushing my hand away and trying to get the mouse. What's the point in buying toys if he just stands by the computer and grunts at the mouse.

The Boys.

I do love my boys. And I believe that they usually love me too. Although it is hard to fathom when Aidan is telling me that I am the worst Dad in the world and that he "hates me." Then 5 minutes later he'll be hugging me and begging me to play with him. I appreciate his mood swings. They keep me on my toes. Liam also started having mini-temper tantrums. He'll go to hit whatever with the open palm of his hand and try to bite with his lovely six teeth. He'll also be cuddling with you 5 minutes later so I'm not too worried about either of them. I'm amazed that I have sons to raise and hope and pray that I'll do alright at it. I'm pretty lucky though in that I have a guiding voice (my wife) who hesitates not to point out what I can do better. Thanks Hun!

Our Family at Kristin's Wedding.

Wow! What an amazing wedding the my sister in law Kristin and Mr. Justin Pribble had! It was a blast to be with friends and family. Everything and everyone was so beautifully decked out in thier best that it defies description. I'm typing right now with a very sick Aidan standing next to me growling about how he is "so bored." He has strep throat and a pretty bad cold.

Anywho, it was a perfect day for a wedding and both the bride and groom looked amazing and truly in love, which is all that matters at the end of the day. I thought I'd post some pictures of us all standing as Elise has been in bed for 4 weeks after having ankle surgery (she also was diagnosed with strep throat and a sinus infection). How lucky am I to have such a beautifully sexy wife who somehow has decided to stay with me through all of my painfully incompetance.

I love it when it gets real quiet in the house and then I hear Seery yell "Woohoo" and then she jumps from 5 steps up all the while talking to herself or her "imaginary friends." Their names are "I'm not telling you."
I'm a little scared at how cute Seery is when I think about her being older and a teenager. Those boys had better watch it because I will follow them and if they dare park their car to watch the "submarine races" as my parents called it then out will come the paintball gun I'll someday buy for that very purpose.

Liam is Mobile!

Liam finally crawled for the first time on September 28th. He's been sitting on his bum for about a month now getting up on his haunches, but has just been too scared to go anywhere. Maybe it has something to do with him faceplanting a few time right on his little button of a nose. It's fun to walk into his room in the morning and to see him sitting up in bed jabbering away.

Now we just have to babyproof everything and teach Aidan and Seery some more patience so they don't kill the poor child when he crawls over and starts eating their toys.

Of course Elise is bummed out because she's in bed for 3 weeks after having ankle surgery to repair her ligament and a torn tendon. We did get Liam to crawl in her room with her Blackberry Curve as bait. For everyone wondering - Elise's surgery went perfect, but she's in a ton of pain.

Seery's 4th Birthday!

Seery had an awesome 4th birthday party! Thank you to all who came and made this day special for her and to her wonderful Aunt Mallory for making the superb cake.
Seery said her favorite part of her birthday was "having cake" and "opening presents, Diane and Ben's presents." She loved the glowsticks. I'd have to say her favorite birthday present was her brand new purple bike with training wheels.
The top picture is Seery with her best friend Megan. They are in the same class at preschool and hug and kiss when saying goodbye. I don't even get that from Seery. Seery received a crown, balloon, and got to be the special helper at her preschool.

Mom is Barbie?

On the way home tonight from Granny's house while Aidan and Seery were playing with her new doll she bought with birthday money from Target the following conversation occurred.

Aidan: Why did you want to marry Mom?
Dad: Because I fell in love with her.
Aidan: I think it was because she's a Barbie girl. She has barbie hair and brown skin just like Barbie does.

I would have to agree with Aidan. The first think I noticed when I met my wonderful wife camping 10 years ago was her long blonde hair and I've loved it ever since.

I took a video of Liam swinging as he was loving it and it wasn't until I watched it about 10 minutes later that I heard what Aidan was actually saying in the background.

Now, I hope that whoever listens to Aidan doesn't get the wrong idea. He's not running around all the time pulling down his pants and underwear and I can assure that 'Granny' would not find that funny. I love how I just tuned him out to focus on Liam making his cute little sounds. What a great Dad!

How bad is it when you walk into a meeting and casually say, "Well, I wonder who's getting fired?" and then the guy in charge of the meeting smiles and says, "Don't say that. . . " Ten minutes later there's been an 'organizational change' and your company has one less employee.

Like Wally from Dilbert says, "I need to become irreplacable so I can't be fired for my behavior." Now those are words to live by.

Liam loves to eat. I really like his spirit fingers that he does when he really likes what he's eating.

I love telling my Aidan and Seery to spin. It's fun to watch them spin as fast as they can and then try to run. They were spinning today while waiting for Aidan's kindergarten class to start. I took it on my phone so it's not quite that clear, but it's not too bad either.

I have time right now because Aidan is still at school now and Elise is at the neighbors chatting it up. I'm thankful she has some good friends here. I just got done vacuuming the family and living rooms and can't wait for them to be messy again. It seems somewhat pointless to clean and then it's messy again within hours. It's like kids are allergic to cleanliness.

What's better than that is Elise telling me this morning that the weeds don't look much better even though we were both out there last Thursday pulling them until we were sweaty messes. I'm planting corn next year and making a corn maze so I can charge all of the local elementary schools to come through it. I love having the computer right next to our backyard so I can just turn my head and be inspired by the view.

I'm starting an AdSense account to become rich, but in the meantime I'd be happy to accept donations towards getting some grass in our sandbox of a backyard. If the later part of this blog seems like complaining then we're of like minds.

Jedi Younglings!

So the last few nights on Spike TV they've been showing Star Wars 1-3 and I've let the kids watch about an hour of each before bed. Aidan said he wishes he had a real light saber and four arms so he could fight real good. Seery kept asking about Princess Leia. I am glad Santa brought the both of them light sabers this last Christmas because they still love to turn out the lights and fight with them. No one has been hurt yet thankfully. I'll have to check both of their midichlorian counts to see if they'd qualify for training. I hear it has to be 7,000. And, yes, I can already hear Elise calling me a dork for putting this on here, but you have to have hobbies, right?

I'm Going To Miss Summertime. . .

Sometimes I'll tell Elise that I want to live in the Philippines. It's not because I don't like the people here or that I want to live far away from family. It is because it would be hot and humid all year long and we would live close to what I think are the most beautiful beaches in the world.

I love kids. I love them because I can stick two baby pools in our front yard (our backyard is still dirt and weeds) and they're as happy as can be. If only I could regain that innocent joy for even one day then I'd be happy.

Aidan's now a real boy!

Elise took Aidan to Sports Clips yesterday because she had a coupon for a free haircut.

When I met them at Seery's preschool he literally jumped out of the van and starting yelling at me about what happened. Now he wasn't yelling out of anger but out of sheer excitement. He told all about how he got to watch kids play baseball on TV and how he got his hair shampooed and washed "in a sink". He also loved getting massaged.

I swear Elise was misty eyed when she was telling me about it. She can't believe that her little boy is now a man just like his Dad. The best part was that Aidan wants to go with me next time for boy time. I can't wait!

Dad: What did you like the most about your haircut?

Aidan: I liked getting the massage.

Dad: How come you like that the most?

Aidan: They did it on my back with a machine. It tickled a little bit.

Hello Silly World of Blogging!

I am going to be a blogger! We'll see how long it lasts and if my kids will let my blog without yelling for me to turn off the computer and get them a snack or play with them. But wait a minute-isn't blogging an excuse to ignore your kids!!
Well, I only made it this far and I hear Liam crying so I'm off. . .
